Acotar Lucien And Elain
Because, after years of dating, Elain and Lucien had developed a relationship on their own terms, rather than one dictated by a mating link. And it wasn't until they had truly embraced one other that each piece of their relationship, which had hidden and split apart as a result of rejection, came back together singing with glee. Elain and Luciens unite, and the pieces are reborn, living, shining, shiny, and brand new. Demonstrating that even if a link is denied, it never fully disappears. The parts sat there, concealed so deeply, hoping that one day they might be reunited.
Rhysand was there in this chapter to put an end to it. He made it more difficult for Azriel to follow Elain, and as others have pointed out, Azriel is unlikely to defy Rhys' command now that Nyx is present. Months had passed since the Winter Solstice, and there had been no encounters between Azriel and Elain, indicating that Azriel would not revolt against Rhys. That is SJM closing closer on Elain and Azriel's possible relationship, in my opinion. Even if there is a history, even if there is some little build-up, she swaps love interests often in her stories. In Throne of Glass, she built up Chaol and Aelin, and their connection was profound, and they both admitted love to one another, but we bid goodbye to Chaol shortly after she introduced Rowan. History and build-up do not guarantee a romance if the tale deviates from the norm. And, no, SJM will not write an off-the-page love tale. If she wanted us to witness anything between them, she would have made it a scene or just acknowledged it.

Many of the things I draw/paint seem different on my laptop screen than they do on my phone screen. There is no device-to-device color calibration. So, please, please, please call out artists who are blatantly disregarding canon. Without a doubt. However, bear in mind that many people are prepared to placate and be nice when it comes to pointing out flaws.
