When you understand both, you will have finished all of Prophet Muhammad's (saws) Sunnah in terms of tashadud. Why restrict yourself to recite in just one way? Now, if it is tough for you, do what you are capable of doing. Stick to the version you were taught when you first learnt to pray salat; there is no fault in reciting one over the other or not saying it at all.
