Rating mostly for the epic combat in this film, as well as outstanding visual effects that merge in flawlessly with the setting and vivid noises that rattle your speakers. Congratulations to everyone involved. On the other side, this film fails miserably in terms of character development and narrative. There were a lot of phony grins and terrible language, and it did a horrible job of making you feel for any character's position and wanting more from them; it's almost as if the movie stopped when scenes switched from Kaijus to people. Characters were introduced for no apparent cause. The plot was uninteresting and uninspired. I wouldn't suggest this movie for the narrative or the acting of the characters, but I would recommend it for the epic Kaiju fights and CGI.
