The legends were passed down for as long as their forefathers had resided here. Man's battles with creatures, tales of resiliency, joy, and dread. The forest is at their heart: an uncompromising but not harsh deity, brimming with mysterious power. She protected those under her dense canopy from all but dappled sunshine, and those who lived at her margins, cultivating her tract's arable ebbs, from what lay beyond. This was the land's way of life in peace and stability. Ochako Uraraka wanted to one day tell her children the same thing, that their stability had been long-lasting.
