When you call this number, a young guy introduces himself as the Yato God. Yato is a minor god and self-proclaimed "Delivery God" who wishes to be worshiped by millions. However, without a single shrine devoted to his name, his ambitions are unlikely to be accomplished. He spends his days performing odd chores for five yen each, until his weapon companion becomes tired of her worthless master and abandons him. Just as the god's fortunes seem to be bleak, a middle school girl, Hiyori Iki, allegedly rescues Yato from a car accident by absorbing the hit for him. She somehow lives, but the experience has caused her spirit to become free, allowing it to exit her body. Hiyori insists that Yato restore her to normalcy, but when she learns that he would need a new partner to do so, she grudgingly agrees to assist him in finding one.
